JUDA Suburb Snapshots
The City of Joondalup has a proposed new strategy for its infill housing and this proposal will be voted on at the next Council Meeting on the 21st of May 2019.

Here you can find information specific to your suburb. Also refer to Info Sheet 5 to see how much busier JUDA thinks your neighborhood is likely to get with time.

The proposed framework has two mechanisms for transitioning the development from more intense close to the Activity Centres to less intense at the margin with the existing suburbs.

The Coding controls how many dwellings can be built on lots and the Typology Matrices control the type of development that can occur on lots. The purpose of the latter is to prevent inappropriate development from occurring at the highest and lowest densities. In low density areas apartments are not permitted and in high density areas some forms of grouped dwellings are not permitted.

In cul-de-sacs the number of Apartments that can be built is restricted to by land area instead of by plot ratio.

The proposed Development Controls require better development than the current R-Codes and they mandate green space and trees.
