JUDA presented at the recent Statutory Planning Committee (SPC) of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) in support of the City of Joondalup's Scheme Amendment No. 5.
This item was classified as confidential so we don't know what the he Department of Planning, Lands & Heritage recommended to the committee. We don't know what the committee has recommended to the Minister. We don't know how long the Minister will take to consider the Development Controls contained in this Scheme Amendment and the recommendation to her from the WAPC committee.
But what we have always known is that the need for these development controls is as urgent as they have always been for our community. We have waited way too long. We have jumped through all the hoops that have been asked of us. Now we expect the Development Controls to be implemented without delay.
The Scheme Amendment No. 5 as endorsed by both the Community and the Council must be progressed without any further delay. The need for this can not be denied, some of our Community's have been forced to live with the disastrous unintended consequences of the current planning scheme - this can not be allowed to continue.
Attached is:
- JUDA's written submission to the Committee;
- Key Matters Identified by the DPLH; and
- Extract from the minutes of the SPC summarising both JUDA's and the City's presentations.
Remember this has been classified as a confidential item so our Community who are the most impacted by this are not allowed to see anything else in this process........
